And I will make all my mountains a road, and my highways shall be raised up. Isaiah 49:11
Our deep and darkest times are actually times when we cry out the most for His help. Those times when we wonder why God is not answering our prayers are times when He is actually waiting for us to get to that place of desperation for Him. He knows that until you reach that place, you won't come up with Him when He comes down to get you. In fact, it is your desperation that ushers in His Spirit to come down and swoop you.
For most of us, we have been in this place of up and down so many times -- situations that made us cry out to God for help, experience His move, and then forget about it ... until the next time. If you have been in this same boat, and you are now crying out to God again, and you feel like He is not hearing you, let me tell you something.
God knows that you will forget again after He comes down and brings you up. He knows how fickle your emotions are. He knows how easy it is for you to forget. He wants you to Himself, and not back and forth. When He has you, He doesn't want to let go of you; yet something in your world keeps beckoning you to return to it. So, this time around, when He comes to get you to bring you to where He is, He wants to make sure that you are not going anywhere anymore.
I hear you say, "I will not leave anymore. I promise." Yet, God knows your heart. He knows if you are really ready or not. Once He sees that you truly are, He will come down and bring you to the mountaintop. When that happens, you will never leave His presence again. You will be so desperate and hungry for Him. You will not exchange His love for anything or anyone. You will remain faithful to Him for the rest of your life. This will not only change you, but the people around you. This intimacy with Him will release you to the purpose that He has given you. It will bring about your healing and deliverance. It will catapult you to a higher level in Him.
This is why you are where you are. This is why you are so tired and weary. You are finally at a point of utter desperation. You've tried everything and nothing works. This is exactly the place where He wants you to be. Then, He will come and you will not want to be anywhere ever again.
